V.O. Chidambaranar Port Trust is a body corporate constituted under Chapter II, Section 3(1) of the Major Port Trust Act 1963 by the Central Government. The Board of Trustees appointed by the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India consists of Chairman, Deputy Chairman and seventeen Trustees. It functions under the administrative control of the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India.
